URGENT WARNING
We are advising all users to halt all deposits and referral activity on FreeBitco.in. Withdrawals have been frozen since August 2025 with no resolution in sight. Treat any funds on the platform as lost.
For over a decade, FreeBitco.in was the gold standard of Bitcoin faucets. Launched in 2013 when BTC was worth $100, it paid out billions of satoshis to millions of users. It was the faucet we all started with.
That era is over. As of July 2026, FreeBitco.in is effectively a non-paying platform with all the hallmarks of an exit scam. We originally rated FreeBitcoin 8.5/10 in our detailed review. That rating no longer reflects reality.
The Timeline of Collapse
Unlike new platforms that fail within months, FreeBitco.in had 13 years of trust. That makes this collapse particularly painful — and the warning signs harder to accept. Here's exactly what happened:
August 2025: Withdrawals Go Silent
Users begin reporting withdrawals stuck in "Pending" status for 10+ days. Support tickets go unanswered. A SCAM WARNING thread appears on Bitcointalk with multiple affected users sharing evidence.
October 10, 2025: Domain Expires
The FreeBitco.in domain expires, taking the entire site offline globally. Users cannot access their balances. The domain is later renewed to 2031, but the damage to trust is done. The silence around the lapse — no public statement, no support response — amplifies the panic.
December 2025: Shutdown Announcement
FreeBitco.in posts a shutdown announcement. Users interpret this as confirmation of an exit scam disguised as an orderly closure. The announcement promises "genuine users" will eventually be able to withdraw through a special shutdown database.
Early 2026: Annoucement Disappears, Deposits Continue
The shutdown announcement is quietly removed. The deposit system remains active — users can still generate new BTC deposit addresses and send funds to the platform. Withdrawals remain frozen. The site's email system appears broken; users cannot change payout addresses or verify accounts.
May 2026: Community Fights Back
Community pressure forces FreeBitco.in to hide the deposit button, but withdrawals are still not processed. FreeBitcoinScam.com launches to track the situation. Social media has been silent since December 2025.
The Evidence
This isn't speculation. Multiple independent sources confirm the pattern:
1. Withdrawals Stuck Since August 2025
Dozens of users on Bitcointalk, Reddit, and consumer complaint sites report withdrawals pending for months. Many never received a TXID (transaction ID) — meaning the site never even broadcast the transaction to the Bitcoin network.
2. Deposits Still Accepted (Until May 2026)
For months after freezing withdrawals, FreeBitco.in continued accepting new BTC deposits. Users could generate fresh deposit addresses as recently as May 2026. This is the textbook exit scam behavior: take money in, don't send money out.
3. Promotions Continue
While users couldn't withdraw their earnings, FreeBitco.in continued running its "Win a Lambo" Golden Ticket Round 13 promotion — attracting more deposits into a platform that wasn't paying anyone.
4. Trustpilot Collapse
Trustpilot now shows 1,254 reviews with a TrustScore of approximately 1.5 out of 5. The company profile is unclaimed. Users report three consecutive withdrawals delayed, FUN token deposits never arriving, and balances disappearing.
5. Broken Communication
The site's email system appears non-functional. Users trying to change payout addresses never receive confirmation emails. Support tickets are auto-answered or ignored. Social media has been silent since December 2025.
6. Forum Consensus
Senior and legendary members on Bitcointalk — people who have been in the crypto space for over a decade — are unanimously saying the same thing: the funds are gone.
The Classic Exit Scam Pattern
FreeBitco.in is following the exact playbook we've documented with other failed platforms:
| Red Flag | FreeBitco.in Status |
|---|---|
| Withdrawals stuck in "Pending" | Since August 2025 (11+ months) |
| Support unresponsive | Yes — tickets auto-answered or ignored |
| Deposits still enabled | Was enabled until May 2026 (now hidden) |
| No TXIDs provided | Users report never receiving transaction IDs |
| Social media silent | Last post: December 2025 |
| Promotions continue | "Win a Lambo" ran while withdrawals frozen |
| Domain issues | Expired October 2025, briefly offline |
What You Should Do Now
- DO NOT DEPOSIT: Any Bitcoin you send to FreeBitco.in now is almost certainly lost.
- DOCUMENT EVERYTHING: Screenshot your balance, any pending withdrawals, and support ticket IDs. This evidence may be needed for community reporting.
- POST PUBLICLY: Share your case on Bitcointalk, Reddit (r/Bitcoin, r/Beermoney), and other forums. Public pressure has historically forced responses from failing platforms.
- CHANGE PASSWORDS: If you used the same password elsewhere, change it immediately. Failed platforms are often sold to bad actors who attempt credential stuffing.
- EXPECT THE WORST: Given the 11+ month delay with no communication, the likelihood of full fund recovery is low. Plan accordingly.

The Bigger Lesson
FreeBitco.in's collapse teaches us something important about the micro-earning space: longevity doesn't guarantee safety.
For 13 years, FreeBitco.in was the faucet everyone trusted. It had the longest track record in the industry. And that very reputation made users complacent — they left larger balances on the platform, recommended it to friends, and assumed "it's been around since 2013, it can't be a scam."
But as we've said many times: never leave a balance on a site longer than necessary. Cash out early, cash out often. The moment you earn something, move it to a wallet you control.
The golden rule of micro-earning still applies: treat every platform as if it could disappear tomorrow, because any one of them can.
We will continue to monitor the situation. If FreeBitco.in resurfaces and clears the payout backlog with a valid explanation, we will update this post. Until then, treat FreeBitco.in as a Dead Site.
Stay safe out there.
